Mechanics of Stingray Swimming by releeps.tripod: Thrust is produced by flapping of the pectoral fins which produces large undulations spanning from the anterior to the posterior of the fish. The amplitude envelope of the undulations increases from the anterior part to the fin apex and decreases toward the posterior and can be explained from its triangular-shaped pectoral fins which are narrower toward anterior and posterior of the fish. #Stingray #Swimming
